NOTO Art Health Walk

The NOTO Art Health Walk invites the community to enjoy the variety of outdoor public art available in NOTO while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. This self-guided tour of art through the district will provide fun interactive health tips as you navigate the various art paths provided.

Green Screen Project/Topeka Youth Project Chalk Wall, Brooks Mural

This three part design project was started in 2022 and finished in 2023 as a beautification effort to activate more art spaces in the 800 block alleys.  In collaboration with Owner Bryan Falk, three projects were combined into one on the back of the Falk Architect building.

Metal Banners on Light Poles

The unique metalworks by artists Michael Bradley and Larry Peters join a collection of NOTO banners featuring work from local artists.  Various metal light pole banners can be found throughout the district.

Three Sisters Sculpture

The Three Sisters story exists in numerous Native American cultures and represents a symbiotic planting method of corns, beans and squash. These three plants support each other through their growth and life cycle, and support humans as well as a perfect nutritional trifecta.

Welcome to NOTO Mural

This beautiful ‘Welcome to NOTO’ mural literally popped up overnight in NOTO. Two artists, Sara Myer and Jennifer Bohlander surprised the district when they collaborated with Compass Point to create this beautiful mural that welcomes patrons to the district as they exit off the Kansas Ave. bridge.

All Veterans Memorial

Just to the South of Great Overland Station on the BNSF Plaza sits a unique piece of art and engineering. Professionals from Promark Design, Schwert Design Group, Digginger Foundry, and Kelly Construction designed this sculpture and the surrounding plaza.

Grass Roots Crosswalk

The Grassroots Crosswalk was completed in the fall of 2023 as a pilot project in the district. The crosswalk was created to include the NOTO colors and wave, and a variety of Kansas grasses were included to represent that the NOTO Arts & Entertainment District was a “grass-roots effort from the beginning”.

Kaw Valley Bank Mural

The 30 foot Mural is located inside of the Kaw Valley Bank at 1110 N. Kansas Ave. and was painted by John William Bashor in 1965. He painted the mural in his studio on a stretcher frame, from which it was then removed to be cemented onto a wooden panel for display in the bank. The mural covers 145 square feet and is painted on linen canvas.
